Initial Comments:

This report is the result of a Medicare complaint survey (PA 52629) initiated on July 6, 2021, and concluded on July 14, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital by the Pennsylvania Department of Health - Division of Acute and Ambulatory Care at the request of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). It was determined that the facility was in compliance with Part 482 - Conditions of Participation For Hospital - Subpart E - Requirements for Specialty Hospital - 482.68 Special requirements for transplant centers. Regulations at 42 CFR 488.3 require that a provider must be in compliance with the applicable Conditions of Participation.

This report is the result of an unannounced onsite complaint investigation (PIT21C011P) completed on July 6, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital Transplant Center. It was determined that the facility was in compliance with the requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Health's Rules and Regulations for Hospitals, 28 PA Code, Part IV, Subparts A and B, November 1987, as amended June 1998.
